Public Footpath from bottom of Station Road to CCA fields

1. Walking down the bottom of Station road, you can find a public foot path, which runs adjacent to stream which used to run the wool mills.

2. This narrow foot path leads to a bridge. To the right, some houses can be found. Continuing up this road leads back into the Cullompton High Street. This path then leads to the left between bushes. You are then at the other side of the wool museum. The calm stream stretches up this path. The rear of houses can be seen at the other side of the stream.

3. This pathway continues to lead down the stream and the area widens. This is a popular place for people to cyclists, dog walkers. With the addition of a near by bench, people also come here for socialising.

4. The path once again splits. Turning right leads over a bridge, where the above stream valve can be seen. This bridge leads onto a footpath into local modern estates.

Else continuing past the bridge to the left, continues down the stream further.

5. This leads to the CCA fields. This area is popular for events, and at other times, for family's etc. At the end of the field, there is a children's park.

Old Hill Cycle Route

If you cycle up Fore street, then down Cockpit Hill. Then continue straight along Duke Street you should be near the Cullompton Sports Centre.

At the T junction, with the road leading to the Culm Valley Sports Centre on your right hand side. Continue up the road over the M5 motorway bridge.

Traveling over the motorway bridge leads to a steep hill between trees. Before you go up the hill, your see fields to your left hand side. There will be a public foot path, leading into 3 fields. These fields have cows, and the odd bull. This area is popular for dog walkers.

Continuing up old hill leads to views of Cullompton, which can be seen above. it must be noted that overgrown hedges now prevents such clear views.

Near the top of Old Hill, you can turn left, which leads into country lanes. Or you can continue up old hill, and this road leads to Mutterton and Westcott. Either direction is a good cycling route. You can take one direction, and cycle to Plymtree for example, and then take a different road back to Cullompton for the scenic views!
